July 2010 Bar Review
“LawTutors was a great way to help me prepare for the Bar Exam. It really made me feel more confident. One of the essays we actually did in class was almost identical to one on the exam. It was a great feeling to know exactly how to answer it and what the Board of Bar Examiners was looking for!”
- Julie, New England School of Law
As you begin preparing for your upcoming bar examination, you may be unfamiliar with LawTutors. LawTutors is not in competition with the general bar review courses, such as Barbri and PMBR, and does not teach the same or similar strategies and techniques. Rather, LawTutors offers one-on-one or small group tutoring. While commercial bar review companies offer comprehensive bar review courses in a pre-packaged video format, LawTutors offers the opportunity to ask questions and address your areas of weakness in a personalized and individually-focused format.
Base Program: $2,395
Includes all LawTutor’s small group seminars, including the extra Massachusetts specific seminar. Also includes the Emanuel Bar Review Refresher course and Intensive review, and Professor McLaughlin’s Massachusetts specific lectures, and all LawTutor’s materials.
*Please note, if you would like McLaughlin’s printed books, and not just CDs, it will be an extra $150

LawTutors Bar Exam Review Seminars
All bar review students should take the Base Program, which is taught by LawTutors’ founder Tania Shah, or Vice President Melissa Gill, and covers the seven core subjects on every Bar Exam as well as Federal Jurisdiction (MA and NY specific) and MA Practice (MA specific). This will serve as your “Base” for bar review study and will guide you through a strict and intense review.
The Base Program consists of 13 seminars: 6 MBE and 7 Essay seminars, which includes Federal Jurisdiction and MA Practice. Each seminar is small group [no more than 8 students], interactive, and intense. Seminars run three hours long and include all materials. Also included with the seminars (and in the price of the Base Program) is the opportunity for each student to have two essays reviewed and commented on by Tania Shah and Melissa Gill. This provides each seminar student with individualized feedback on their essay writing to further hone their essay writing skills specifically for the Bar Exam.
The Base Program is extremely cost effective and you may even choose to only take the Essay track or to only take the MBE track. Please note that even though you can choose to take only the Essay track or to take only the MBE track, the course is most effective when taking them both together.
Mass Specific Seminar
LawTutors students also have the option of taking part in our intensive two day Massachusetts specific Essay Seminar. This seminar focuses specifically on the areas of law that apply solely to Massachusetts and is invaluable to students planning on taking the Massachusetts Bar Exam. This seminar is included in the Base Package and is also available to students not taking any other LawTutors seminars.
