What Not To Do in Law School OR How to Succeed in Law School without Losing Your Mind!
LawTutors is offering a brand new program called “What Not to Do in Law School, or How to Succeed in Law School without Losing Your Mind”.
The program will teach incoming law students what to expect in law school, how to prepare for classes, what to expect out of classes, how best to spend your study time, how to outline, the pros and cons of study groups and commercial outlines, and how to prepare and ace an exam! The program is unique in that we take only a maximum of 10 students so that everyone has a chance to interact and participate.
The seminar will be taught by LawTutor’s president and vice president, Tania Shah and Melissa Gill, and like all The program will take place on August 15th and 16th, from 10am to 4pm each day. Lunch and materials will be provided. Materials include “Stratgies and Tactices for the First year”, “Law School In a Box”, “LawTutors’ Big Pictures, Little Essays”, “LawTutor’s Big Picture Cds” , as well as practice exams, outlines and charts that you will go over during the seminar.
The fee is $495, which includes both days of seminar, lunch and all materials.

*Please note that both days are small group, meaning there will be NO MORE than 10 students in the seminar. In addition, the entire seminar is fairly interactive; nothing is videotaped or scripted, and students will always have an opportunity to ask questions and participate.

A panel discussion with Attorney Instructors and upper level law students, sharing their stories on how they were successful, things that happened that they didn’t expect, and things they wish they would have known prior to starting classes, with opportunities to ask the students questions |

Lunch will be provided with the cost of the program. If students have special dietary needs, they should notify LawTutors or bring their own lunch. |
| 1:30 – 2:30 Simulated Class |
Melissa and Tania will teach a mock law school class, complete with Socratic method, so that you know what to expect your first day of classes. This will be interactive, and we will be using what was discussed in Class Preparation. |

How to make the best use of your study time; including how to outline after class, how to synthesize what you learned and what to do with all those case briefs. |
Day 2

Lunch will be provided again, and this time students will have an opportunity to interact with the LawTutor’s Attorney Instructors and students. |
| 1:30 – 2:30 Panel: Exam Stress |
Panel with LawTutors Attorney Instructors and upper level students on what to expect during exams, how they prepared, what made them successful and things they would do differently if they had to do it all over again. Again, students will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panel. |

Students will get to talk to those that were on the panel, if they have any lingering questions |
| 2:45 – 4:00 The Big Picture |
Melissa and Tania will walk students through a practice exam, from how to issue spot, to how to write it. |
